Fijivillage, 21 February 2018 – Thousands are without power and states of emergency have been declared as Cyclone Gita brings heavy rain and strong winds to the country.
The Christchurch City, Taranaki, Nelson Tasman, Buller, Westland, Grey and Selwyn councils have all declared states of emergency.
At least 5000 people in Golden Bay and Collingwood are cut off after heavy rain brought down slips, closing the road in three places on Takaka Hill. Read more…
