SPECIAL WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER NINETY FOR FLOOD ISSUED FROM RSMC NADI AT 9.20AM ON THURSDAY THE 16th OF FEBRUARY 2017

FLOOD WARNING

A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE LOW LYING AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS ADJACENT TO DREKETILAILAI STATION AND DOWNSTREAM OF QAWA RIVER AND NOW IN FORCE FOR THE LOW LYING AREAS AND AREAS ADJACENT TO RAKIRAKI TOWN AND DOWNSTREAM OF RAKIRAKI STATION.

FLOOD ALERT

A FLOOD ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS ADJACENT TO OTHER MAJOR RIVERS FOR THE WHOLE OF FIJI.

SITUATION

AN ACTIVE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WITH ASSOCIATED CLOUD AND RAIN REMAINS SLOW MOVING OVER FIJI. A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE WHOLE OF FIJI.

LEVEL AT DREKETILAILAI STATION WAS 3.3M AT 9.00AM WHICH IS 0.8 ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND INCREASING.

LEVEL AT RAKIRAKI STATION WAS 2.9M AT 9.00AM WHICH IS 0.9M ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND INCREASING.

LEVEL AT QAWA BRIDGE STATION WAS 2.57M AT 9.00AM WHICH IS 0.57M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL LEVEL AND INCREASING.

LEVEL AT VATUKACEVACEVA STATION WAS 1.03M AT 8.00AM WHICH IS 0.03M ABOVE ALERT LEVEL AND DECREASING.
