SPECIAL WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER EIGHTY ONE FOR FLOOD ISSUED FROM RSMC NADI AT 10.40AM ON WEDNESDAY THE 15th OF FEBRUARY 2017

FLOOD WARNING

A FLOOD WARNING IS NOW IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND AREAS ADJACENT TO RAKIRAKI TOWN AND DOWNSTREAM OF RAKIRAKI STATION.

FLOOD ALERT

A FLOOD ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS ADJACENT TO MAJOR RIVERS FOR VANUA LEVU, EASTERN HALF OF VITILEVU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

SITUATION

A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE REMAINS SLOW MOVING OVER THE EASTERN PARTS OF FIJI. MEANWHILE, AN ACTIVE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WITH ASSOCIATED CLOUD AND RAIN IS GRADUALLY MOVING ONTO THE GROUP FROM THE NORTH.

A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR NORTHERN AND EASTERN PARTS OF VITI LEVU, YASAWA GROUP, VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP AND IS NOW IN FORCE FOR THE REST OF FIJI.

LEVEL AT RAKIRAKI STATION WAS 2.49M AT 10.00AM WHICH IS 0.49M ABOVE WARNING LEVEL AND INCREASING.
