Tambua Sands Resort, Fiji – Once a trailblazer in Fijian soccer, Radike Nawalu’s legacy continues in a different but equally meaningful way. Now part of the team at Tambua Sands Resort, Radike is proof that passion, purpose and a strong work ethic do not retire with age.
Officially retired, Radike remains active in the workforce and is grateful for the opportunity to continue contributing in a role he values deeply. He currently works across the resort’s landscaping team and also supports operations as a driver, bringing reliability, warmth and a steady presence to everyday resort life.
“First and foremost, I thank God,” Radike says. “I am also deeply thankful to Tambua Sands Resort management for giving me the chance to continue working and contributing, even after retirement.”
While he still enjoys kicking a ball around from time to time, Radike reflects on how much the game has evolved since his playing days. What has not changed, however, is his love for the sport and the discipline and teamwork it instilled in him, qualities he now brings to his work each day.
Resort Manager Ms Angela Bob says Radike’s impact goes far beyond his job description. “Radike is a fantastic worker, but what truly sets him apart is his sense of humour and his fluency in Hindi, which lifts the mood and brings people together. He is a valued member of our team and a joy to work with.”
