Sheraton Fiji FOM Receives Prestigious Marriott Award of Excellence

Nadi, Fiji – Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort’s Assistant Front Office Manager, Ms Elena Qereqeretabua has received the prestigious J. Willard Marriott Award of Excellence in a special awards ceremony held in Washington D.C. on Monday 16 October 2023 (Eastern Standard Time). Ms Qereqeretabua is one of only ten recipients globally within Marriott International who were acknowledged for the esteemed award.

Marriott International’s J. Willard Marriott Award of Excellence is a prestigious annual award, established in 1987 by its Founder, that recognises exceptional Associates efforts within Marriott International worldwide.

Ms Qereqeretabua is the first Fijian and Pacific Islander to attain this international award which is an incredible achievement recognizing her unwavering dedication to serving hotel guests, remarkable leadership in her team and an ambassador of Fiji’s famed Bula spirit. Her journey commenced in 2015 as a Front Office Trainee at The Westin Denarau Resort & Spa where she continued to grow and excel in her role.

Throughout her tenure, Ms Qereqeretabua’s exceptional performance shone through her pivotal role within her team especially during the global pandemic. Her steadfast support was crucial in guiding her team through the necessary adjustments in business operations, ensuring seamless adaptation to the changing circumstances.

In 2022, she emerged as a vital member of the preopening front office team in her capacity as a team leader at the newly renovated Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, showcasing her courage and unwavering commitment. Her ability to swiftly and decisively address critical situations exemplified her dedication to ensuring guest satisfaction.
