Regional Express (Rex) highly commends Airservices Australia (Airservices) for once again succeeding in lowering its costs and passing the savings on to carriers.Rex Chief Operating Officer, Neville Howell said “Airservices was able to implement a business efficiency programme in 2015-16 that delivered over $170 million in annual savings that has obviated the need for any increases in charges to carriers since then. Its sustained productivity improvements and investment in new technology has enabled an additional reduction in its cost base which allows Airservices to pass on $20 million in further reductions to the operators equating to a 4% reduction in the en route charges.”
