02 October 2019 – The Radisson Blu Resort on Denarau Island will be holding a number of activities during the month of October to show the resort’s support for breast cancer research and awareness.
Throughout the month, The Radisson Blu will have donation tins available throughout the resort for contributions in exchange for pink ribbons that have become the symbol for the advocacy of breast cancer awareness. A pink march accompanied by an awareness breakfast will take place towards the end of the month which the resort is opening up for staff and any guests who would like to participate.
To continuously spread the message, other areas of the organisation, such as the Food and Beverage team are doing their part by accenting breakfast items every Friday in what has popularly become known as the Pink Breakfast.
From a staff and community engagement aspect, mammograms and clinics are being organised with the assistance of the Fiji Cancer Society.
Radisson Blu Resort Fiji General Manager, Mr. Charles Homsy, said, “breast cancer affects many people, and many Fijians’ lives are affected year after year by this terrible disease. However, a lot of this can be prevented through awareness and early detection, and the Radisson Blu is glad to be in a position to be able to spread this message in every way we can.”
All funds raised during Pinktober will go directly to the Fiji Cancer Society towards breast cancer awareness and research projects around Fiji.
