The Radisson Blu Resort Fiji, Denarau Island hosted an Oscars themed Annual Gala on Friday 24 January 2025 to honour its employees and celebrate the resort’s business performance in 2024.
Hosted at the Crowne Plaza Resort, Nadi, the event included a red carpet welcome for staff in their elegant formal evening attire and were treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner and an open bar hosted by the General Manager, Charles Homsy.
Darren Ether Ravia, of the Activities Department scooped the Front of the House – Employee of the Year Award. Popular amongst guests as an Activities Attendant, Darren was recognized by his managers for his dedication to delivering quality guest customer services and a Yes I Can attitude. For his valuable contribution, Darren was also gifted with a $200 Shopping Voucher and 4 nights’ Accommodation at Radisson Blu Sydney.
The 2024 Back of House – Employee of the Year winner was Ms. Babita Devi of the Culinary Department. Ms. Devi joined the Radisson Blu family in 2022 as a Commis Chef and was later promoted to Demi Chef position. Throughout this time, she has been acknowledged for her commitment to excellence, always working diligently behind the scenes to ensure that guest’s received only the best in dining experiences.
Senior Landscaping Supervisor, Mr. Soko Vereti took home the Leader of the Year Award with a $250 Shopping Voucher and a Return trip to Vietnam, with 4 nights’ accommodation at Radisson Cam Ranh in Vietnam. Regarded as a humble and quiet achiever, Mr. Vereti leads a team of 9 staff who are responsible for the meticulous upkeep of the resort’s lush tropical gardens and surrounds.
In his speech, Resort General Manager, Mr. Charles Homsy paid homage to management and staff for their tireless efforts in always putting their customer first despite the challenging months of renovations throughout 2024.
Looking forward, Mr. Homsy assured the team that their newly improved dining outlets and the soon to be completed new Kids Club and the transformed resort reception area will elevate the Radisson’s position as Denarau and Fiji’s preferred holiday destination.
