PUBLIC ADVISORY – UNPLANNED WATER DISRUPTION NOTICE – DEUBA – 16.09.19

Water Authority of Fiji Media Release – Monday 16th September 2019

The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) wishes to advise its customers living in the following parts of Deuba that water supply is currently disrupted until further notice.

Affected Areas Include:

  • Nakaulevu 
  • Waikalou
  • Rovadrau
  • Waidradra
  • Makosoi
  • Pacific Harbour areas.
  • Lepanoni
  • Wainiyabia
  • Qarasarau
  • Vanuadogo
  • Vunimaqo
  • Lomary
  • Galoa

The interruption in supply is due to blockages and high turbidity being experienced at the raw water intake to the Deuba Water Treatment Plant, as a result of the heavy rain currently being experienced.

The Authority is kindly advising its customers residing in the areas above harvest rain water as an alternative and to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.

Customers are also advised to boil all drinking water.

The Authority highly regrets any inconvenience caused to its customers.
