Tourism Fiji is pleased to support, through its Events Development Fund (EDF), for the Musket Cove 36th Fiji Regatta Week scheduled to be held from 13th – 18th September.
The annual event brings cruising yachts from across the Pacific and around the world to Fiji for a week of fun activities, friendly sailing competitions, catching up with old buddies and making new ones.
Musket Cove’s General Manager Mr. Garry Snodgrass said, “What I like about this year is our charitable and environmental approach. This year donations raised will be distributed to SEA MERCY, a charitable organization operating throughout the Pacific. They embark on several community initiatives each year, both water and land based.”
Some initiatives include remote island soils education which helps towards sustainability farming and economic development.
As well as $5 from each entrant, Musket Cove will also donate 50 cents from every drink sold during the event.
Tourism Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Matthew Stoeckel said, “The event is a highlight on the calendar of travelling yachties and is a perfect opportunity for us to showcase our beautiful islands and pristine clear sailing waters. It’s events like the Fiji Regatta that help attract more international visitors to Fiji!”
Last year the annual event hosted over 100 yachts and this year they expect this number to grow. The event will also feature some of Fijis’ finest entertainment including the likes of Knox Brotherhood and the popular band, Inside Out!
