Fiji Times Tuesday 05 September 2017 GOVERNMENT’S move to refurbish the Labasa Airport with night lightings and the reduction of airfares from Labasa to Viti Levu will not benefit the tourism sector in Savusavu a lot.
Reflecting on the drop in airfares, Savusavu Tourism Association chief executive officer Karl Smith said the benefits would be limited with the limited seats swallowed up by Labasa businessmen.
Mr Smith said what Government needed to understand was that Savusavu attracted the high end tourist market, adding that they needed to be transported into and out of Savusavu at times coinciding with international flights.
