INVESTMENT in training and upskilling employees must be strengthened in order to have an effective and productive workforce in Fiji.
This, Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Jone Usamate said, would increase capabilities and enable employees to know the work they were doing.
Speaking at the Fiji Business Forum at Suva’s Grand Pacific Hotel yesterday, Mr Usamate highlighted his ministry’s focus in developing a more productive workforce to enhance Fiji’s economic growth.
“It is very important for someone to be in a productive workforce is that they should not only know what needs to be done, they should be able to do it,” he said.
