Inflation drops, but still high

The Fiji Times, 30 May 2017 – FIJI’S inflation rate had decreased to 4.1 per cent in April after remaining above the 5.0 per cent mark in the first quarter of this year.

But the Reserve Bank of Fiji, in its Economic Review for May released yesterday, said this level was still too high compared to the trend in the last few years.

The inflation rate had peaked its highest level in January standing at 6.8 per cent, later eased in February at 5.5 per cent and slightly rose to 5.6 per cent in March. Read more…
