Thursday 28th August 2025 (Natadola, Fiji): FNPF-owned IHG Hotels in Fiji, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva and Holiday Inn Suva, have been officially accredited as a Great Place to Work® for 2025.
The certification is based on independent assessment and colleague feedback, placing Fiji’s hotels among the world’s most respected employers. In the Australia–Pacific region, 9 out of 10 colleagues said IHG is a great place to work, with Fiji scoring 94 per cent agreement, well above the regional average of 85 per cent. Research shows such high engagement translates directly into stronger guest satisfaction, operational resilience and financial performance. Building winning teams: how IHG’s Great Place to Work status drives hotel performance – Hotel Management
“Our colleagues are the heart of our success, and this recognition belongs to them. It reflects the passion and care they bring every day, and it shows that when we invest in our people we create a culture where careers flourish and guest experiences excel,” comments Lachlan Walker, Regional General Manager, Fiji & Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “I am especially proud of how this accreditation highlights Fiji’s growing reputation for hospitality talent, and I want to acknowledge Alvin Prasad, our Regional Director of Human Resources, for his leadership in making this a reality.”
Colleagues across the hotels benefit from a wide range of support, including comprehensive medical insurance with overseas evacuation, life cover, and additional leave such as birthday and paternity leave.
Career development is encouraged through tuition reimbursement and study leave, alongside recognition programs like Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year, which reward outstanding contributions with travel, cash prizes and cultural experiences. Lifestyle privileges, including dining discounts, spa benefits and access to the global IHG Employee Room Benefit, allow colleagues to enjoy the same experiences they help create for guests.
The Great Place to Work® accreditation reinforces the connection between employee well-being and business excellence. It signals that Fiji’s leading hotels are not only extraordinary destinations for travellers but also rewarding, supportive and inspiring places for people to build meaningful hospitality careers.
