On April 11th, 2024, in Natadola, Fiji, FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels—comprising InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, and Holiday Inn Suva—announced their participation in IHG’s Global “Meeting for Good” Program. This move underscores their ongoing commitment to hosting environmentally responsible meetings and events, aligning with their dedication to responsible business practices as part of IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow Program.
Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF Owned Hotels, stated, “Leading in sustainability isn’t just a responsibility but a passion that motivates us. We are excited to set a new standard for sustainable meetings in Fiji, demonstrating our commitment to making a positive impact on our planet and communities.”
FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels have introduced Digital Collateral & Sales Agreements to reduce paper waste and implemented a Linen & Towel Reuse Program to minimize water and energy consumption under the ‘Greener Stay’ initiative.
The hotels offer plastic-free water service, adhere to reduced HVAC and Lighting policies, and utilize Digital Signage for wayfinding, enhancing the guest experience while reducing single-use signage and conserving resources.
They have a comprehensive Food Waste Reduction Action Plan and feature locally sourced, plant-based options in their Banquet Menu Offerings. Reusable banquet labeling & menus, along with reusable service ware, significantly reduce waste during events and meetings.
Aligned with IHG Hotels & Resorts’ True Hospitality for Good commitment and the Journey to Tomorrow 10-year action plan, FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels are dedicated to creating a positive impact on people, communities, and the planet.
