IHG Fiji Hotels Make Meaningful Movember

IHG Fiji Hotels Make Meaningful Movember

4th December 2024 (Natadola, Fiji): The FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels, including InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & SpaGrand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva, have successfully concluded their Movember campaign, raising $5,000 for Lifeline Fiji. The month-long initiative shone a light on critical men’s health issues, including mental health, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer, while opening conversations and meaningful community engagement.

Movember, a globally recognised symbol of men’s health advocacy, inspires participants to grow moustaches and encourage discussions about health issues often left unspoken. The FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels embraced this global tradition through bespoke offerings and thoughtfully curated events, creating unique opportunities for both guests and colleagues to support the cause.

A highlight of the campaign was the Mental Health Awareness Sessions, facilitated by Lifeline Fiji. Open to colleagues to attend at all three hotels in November, these sessions provided a safe and supportive environment for discussions about mental well-being, offering access to essential resources and professional guidance. Lifeline Fiji is a vital organisation providing 24/7 crisis support, suicide prevention services, and resilience-building workshops across Fiji.

Guests were also treated to a variety of Movember-themed experiences across all three hotels in November. At Lai Lai Café, the exclusive Caramel Pecan Tart added a touch of indulgence to the campaign, while the Gentleman Cocktail, Ratu Dina Cocktail, and Ratu Dina Burger offered unique culinary delights with every purchase supporting the cause.

The campaign’s wellness element was elevated by the Movember Spa Retreat, featuring Himalayan Salt Back Scrubs, with 10% of sales of this treatment donated to Lifeline Fiji. Additionally, a beautifully crafted Movember Cake was available throughout November, bringing vibrant flavours and a fun way for guests to contribute to men’s health awareness.

Meanwhile, colleagues and guests alike rallied around the Cup of Kindness Coffee Sales, held on two Fridays during November, and the Movember Meat Feast at Grand Pacific Hotel, which transformed dining into a purposeful celebration with live barbecue stations and communal engagement.

“Movember is about starting conversations and breaking the stigma around men’s health issues,” commented Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF-Owned Hotels. “Throughout the month of November, we have created awareness, inspired action, and contributed to the well-being of our community by donating to Lifeline Fiji to support their critical services across the country.”

The FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels remain committed to initiatives that support the well-being of their community, continuing their legacy of hospitality and social responsibility.
