2nd May 2024 (Natadola, Fiji): FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels & Resorts, owned by the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), is taking significant steps towards environmental sustainability with the introduction of electric vehicles (EVs) into its fleet.
Today, the first electric vehicles were received at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, marking a milestone in the hotel group’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting eco-friendly practices across its properties.
The adoption of electric vehicles by FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels reflects a global trend towards sustainable transportation. As the world moves towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions, the demand for EVs is rising sharply. FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels & Resorts have purchased three are fully electric vehicles, two will be based at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa and one will be based at the Grand Pacific Hotel Suva.
The introduction of EVs into the FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels & Resorts fleet is part of a broader strategy to embrace sustainable practices and support Fiji’s transition towards a low-carbon economy.
