Focus on Tourism Investment at AHICE 2025

Fiji, 26 June 2025 – The 2025 AHICE Fiji Investment in Tourism Summit, held from 24–26 June at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa in Denarau concluded on a high note with over 348 stakeholders participating. This premier event gathered regional and Asia-Pacific hotel and tourism leaders for invaluable discussions around investment, innovation, and the future of hospitality.

Highlights included a welcome Winemaker Dinner, a charity golf day at Denarau Golf and Racquet Club, proceedings of which went to Treasure Home, and a full conference day featuring market outlooks, panel sessions, and Q&As with industry experts.

“In Fiji, we live by the spirit of Veivukei helping one another. This is more than a cultural value; it’s a foundation for sustainable, inclusive growth. We invite the world to invest in a tourism industry rooted in community, connection, and shared opportunity,” said Hon. Viliame Gavoka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications Hon. Manoa Kamikamica during his address said, “We are pro-investment and pro doing-business in terms of partnerships. We believe there’s partnerships and collaborations to be done and an opportunity to really ramp up the Fijian economy. We will be alongside all of you working together.”

“Coming off a record-breaking year for visitor arrivals and spend, and with 2025 tracking just as strongly with even higher yields and ADR, Fiji is in a prime position for tourism investment,” said Tourism Fiji CEO, Brent Hill. “AHICE has been instrumental in helping us showcase these opportunities, connect with key stakeholders, and drive real momentum. Thanks to the event, we’re seeing stronger investor confidence, increased interest in our 5,000-room development gap, and renewed focus on resort revitalization,” added Brent.

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty said, “AHICE creates invaluable access between government, investors, and operators. Fiji has strong fundamentals, and this event helps us connect with those who are ready to invest in our future, not just financially, but in a way that delivers lasting value to our people and communities. We are committed to promoting opportunities in our tourism sector and attract investments that not only benefit our people but create a sustainable future for generations to come,” he added.

With strong demand, government support, and global marketing efforts ramping up, Fiji is well and truly open for business.

“This year’s event attracted even more global hotel brands and first-time delegates, which speaks volumes about the confidence in Fiji’s tourism sector. We’re proud to be facilitating conversations between the world’s leading hotel groups and local stakeholders laying the groundwork for real investment and long-term growth,” said James Wilkinson, AHICE Group President and Editor-In-Chief of HM Magazine.
