Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay – Community project

Fiji Sun, April 26 – With support from its guests and corporate clients, the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and its associates shares that same support with the local community through a number of initiatives.

The main objective is to help make the local areas a better place to live, work and visit. Last Friday, the resort’s sales and marketing team put smiles on the faces of senior citizens being cared for at the Golden Age Home in Lautoka.

The associates donated essentials, sanitary items and food, and spent a lovely afternoon with the elderly residents.

The Home’s senior welfare officer, Clement Dari, thanked Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay for their support and remembering the needs of the senior citizens.

He said: “It was a humbling experience and indeed it brightened the day for the residents.”

The resort’s marcom specialist, Kseniia Kuznetsova, who was part of the team said: “Fiji Marriott Resort turned one this April. However, birthdays are not only about receiving presents, it is also about giving.

“Providing help to those who need it most is a rewarding experience. There is a Chinese saying that goes, ‘If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody’.

“Happiness is found in helping others. Being part of a community isn’t just about setting up business, and when J.W. Marriott began his venture in the hotel business, he built it on the foundation of supporting the surrounding areas and its people.”

She added: “Spirit to serve our world is one of the Marriott International core values.
