ENVIRONMENT Students To Receive 15,000 Reusable Bags In No Plastic, That’s Fantastic Campaign

Fiji Sun Saturday 09 September 2017  The Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association Coral Coast Chapter will be distributing 15,000 reusable shopping bags to school children within the Nadroga/Navosa province next week as part of its No Plastic-That’s Fantastic campaign.

Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort General Manager, Peter Hopgood said they have decided to take a different approach in combating rubbish problems while launching the campaign at the Reef Conference Room at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort in Korotogo yesterday.

“The Coral Coast Chapter of the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association rather than having clean up all the time, we actually want to fix the rubbish within the environment at the source,” Mr Hopgood said.

“Our biggest challenge in Fiji is that there are too many plastic bags so we have come up with the idea to distribute 15,000 reusable shopping bags to school children within the province of Nadroga/ Navosa,” he added.

Mr Peter Hopgood who is also the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association Coral Coast Chapter chairman said they have organised a poster competition for schools in all grades within the province.  Read more…
