The anticipation is building as the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA) gears up for its grand Gala Dinner scheduled for Saturday, 17th February 2024, at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort.
The Board of Trustees today announced the list of finalists for the 2023 Awards, marking another exciting chapter in the recognition of outstanding achievements within Fijis tourism industry.
FETA Chair, Debra Sadranu, expressed her enthusiasm about the remarkable response received from stakeholders and the industry at large. Following the success of the last season’s event, the 2023 Awards saw an increase in submissions. This highlights the continuous commitment of the industry to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and dedication of tourism stakeholders.
“We are once again excited to see a significant increase of new entries for season 2023, signalling a positive reflection of our industry’s commitment and dedication to excellence,” stated Sadranu.
Last year, FETA included boutique luxury under its luxury accommodation category opening up more opportunities for resorts & hotels to submit an entry. Winners of the 20 categories as well as the trustee’s special awards will be acknowledged on the gala dinner night, a much anticipated event in Fiji’s calendar.
Sadranu explained that a panel of judges, chosen for their expertise in the different tourism fields, evaluated the submissions and were impressed by the overall quality and standards of excellence and service across various sectors of the Fijian tourism industry.
She acknowledged the pivotal role played by ANZ Bank as the Naming Rights Sponsor, along with the generous support from FETA’s respective sponsors. This support, Sadranu emphasized, enables FETA to organize an event that promises to be a celebration of accomplishments that aligns with the season’s theme.
The 2023 theme, “Celebrating Tourism Success,” also aligns with the judge’s observation that the finalists are all truly deserving of excellence awards. The grand gala dinner on the 17th of February will serve as the platform to honour and recognize these exemplary achievements, making it the tourism industry’s premier event Sadranu said.
FETA also announced its partnership with Ticketmax, Fiji’s online event ticketing platform, providing a seamless way for the industry to purchase tickets directly via the Ticketmax platform.
“The partnership with Ticketmax is significant and reflects FETA’s dedication to ensuring that finalists and guests purchase their tickets conveniently and reliably and we encourage all our finalists to purchase tickets early as enquiries have already been flooding in since mid last year”.
“All our finalists will be given the first choice to purchase tickets directly from Ticketmax this Wednesday 17th and the platform will allow them to select their tables or seats with members of the industry and the general public being able to do so shortly after”.
The ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards Gala Dinner promises to be a night filled with excitement, elegance, and a shared spirit of celebration. The entire industry, from seasoned tourism veterans to emerging talents, will come together to applaud the remarkable contributions that have elevated Fijian tourism to new heights.
Sadranu said it is indeed a pleasure to announce the finalists for the 2023 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism awards. FETA will be acknowledging Gold, Silver and Bronze winners on the awards night who will all receive a trophy on the evening.
