Fiji Times Wednesday 06 September 2017 PLANNED repairs and maintenance worth $2 million to Pacific Cement Ltd’s plant would lead to an increase in the production capacity of the plant.
In a statement yesterday PCL’s chief executive officer Sowani Tuidrola said they planned to shut down the cement plant for three weeks starting from September 20 to carry out major repair works.
Mr Tuidrola said all required parts were at the plant and they were expecting at least 15 engineers and technicians from Australia and New Zealand to work on the plant.
Fijian Holdings Ltd group CEO and PCL director Nouzab Fareed said as the largest cement supplier in the country it was their duty to inform the public about the expected closure.
“We are confident following the repair, PCL will be able to produce more cement than before,” said Mr Fareed. Read more…
