Fiji Sun Wednesday 06 September 2017 Pacific Cement Limited (PCL) wish to announce that it has imported 25,000 tonnes of cement from Vietnam and the same arrives in Fiji on September 7, 2017.
The vessel will unload 8000 tonnes in Lautoka and the rest in Suva. Pacific Cement Ltd decided to import cement in order to ease the increasing market demand.
PCL selected the supplier from Vietnam based on its superior quality in line with the standards adopted by PCL in the past. PCL conducted an independent test to verify the quality prior importation. There will be no change in price of cement.
Pacific Cement is planning to shut down its cement plant at Lami for three weeks commencing September 20 to carry out major repair works.
All required parts have reached the plant and at least 15 engineers and technicians from Australia and New Zealand will work on the repairs. Read more…
