Resource owners of Denarau Island are urging all resort employees, who work on Denarau Island, not to take part in any national strike that may be planned for May 3.
The Fiji Trades Union Congress (FTUC) plan on carrying out a national protest on May 3, which coincides with the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank in Nadi from May 1 to 5.
This will be the first time the development financier will hold its annual meeting in the region.
Y3 Gopher Trust Director for Business and Investment, Sekove Tuilakeba, who spoke on behalf of Denarau Island resource owners and the Tui Nadi, Ratu Vuniani Navuniuci, told the Fiji Sun that various meetings have been conducted with the management of the property “that no one will sabotage work”.Read more…
