Press Release: The Radisson Blu Fiji closes its Responsible Business Action Month on a high note

The Radisson Blu Resort Fiji had an eventful and pro-active schedule for the month of September, focusing on various sustainable and charitable initiatives undertaken by Management and staff to raise awareness helping both the Community and the Environment. Every year during the month of September, all Carlson Rezidor hotels and Resorts around the globe come together to celebrate and go the extra mile with their Responsible Business actions, staying true to the Carlson Rezidor philosophy, ‘We are the People, We are the Community, We are the Environment’.

Aside from the month of September, the Radisson Blu Fiji Resort has strong ties with the local community throughout the year with its full time ‘Adopt a School’ program and a number of sustainable tourism practices. The Resort’s positive stance in the local community is achieved by a dedicated Responsible Business Committee who are the driving force in achieving a hands-on approach to tackle the challenges of being a sustainably focused business. The Radisson Blu ‘Adopt-a-School Program‟ has helped over 30 schools and focuses on exerting the most effective and efficient help with education on health and lifestyle for as many Fijian children as possible.

The fulfilling month came to a successful close as Management and staff proudly documented the donation of over nine projectors and a computer laboratory set up for four different schools, linen donations to the Gospel Deaf School, clean up campaigns at Nadi Hospital, food and blood drives, waste recycling projects and a staff wellness regimes through the Resort. “The Radisson Blu family set out to make a positive impact with both internal and external projects in September and the Resort has spent over $20,000 making this possible”, said Gerard Knight, General Manager at Radisson Blu Resort Fiji. “Despite having over 93% occupancy for the month, our team worked effortlessly throughout September to also make a difference to the Community and the Environment. I must commend the team for the hard work and their dedication”. “The Radisson Blu Resort will continue to be a proud beacon for Responsible Business activity and we will come up with innovative ideas to make next year’s Responsible Business Action month bigger and better than this year”.
