President Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote unveils the plaque at the newly opened Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation and Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association building, the Employers Hub, at Gorrie Street in Suva yesterday.
Speaking at the event, the President applauded the partnership between Fiji Commerce and Employers
Federation and Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association.
“This three-storey complex will now be home for the two secretariats with additional commercial rental space,” Mr Konrote said.
He also encouraged them to nurture and support the young workers within their industries.
“I believe it is all our collective responsibility to mentor and develop the young generation for leadership positions,” he said.
“All Fijians should be given equal opportunity to take up leadership roles within the organizations in which they serve.”
“We need to take a united approach to the development of our Nation and to ensure that the best interests of the Nation are at the forefront of public actions and decisions.”
Himen Chandra, Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation president said it was a proud moment for FCEF and Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association to launch the Employers Hub today.
“We would like to assure the Government that we are not stopping here and we will actually deliver what our members needs are,” Mr Chandra said.
The Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association president Dixon Seeto added the new building was a boost to both the associations.
“With this newly built facility, the two associations are better equipped to service members and the economy in the future,” Mr Seeto said.
The Employers Hub, located at 42 Gorrie Street in Suva, has a market value of $3.5 Million.
