Work on the extension of the runway and upgrade of Nausori Airport will commence soon as Fiji Airports will pump in $60 million for this major upgrade that will change the look of the current airport.
While speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says the runway length will be extended from 1,670 metres to 2,140 metres, and widened from 30 metres to 45 metres, plane taxiways will be widened and a new parking apron will be created outside in preparation for a future phase of planned terminal upgrades.
