Fiji Sun Saturday 08 July 2017 Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya has encouraged the private sector to be more innovative.
He said this could be done by thinking outside the box, regardless of the size of the business, and to go beyond their comfort zones to ensure sustainable development and protection of the environment.
Mr Koya made the remarks at the launch of the 2017 Prime Minister’s International Business Awards at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva last night.
The theme for this year’s Awards is “Achieving Sustainable Economic Growth”.
He said for the past seven years, the Fijian economy had been growing positively and was projected to grow by 3.8 per cent this year.
“This means growth of businesses and industries, strong consumer confidence and increasing private sector investments,” he said.
“Simply, the Fijian economy has been performing well, as it is supported by the pro growth and sustainable policies put in place by the Fijian Government and the hard work and dedication from the private sector. Read more…
