13th October 2023 (Natadola, Fiji): InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is excited to introduce its latest environmental endeavour, Litter for a Latte, a dedicated beach cleanup initiative with a mission to combat plastic pollution’s detrimental impact on our oceans. This initiative underscores the resort’s commitment to providing guests with meaningful opportunities to contribute positively to the environment, local culture and communities throughout their stay.
Every Saturday morning at 8am, guests, resort employees and local residents are invited to join forces for a revitalizing beach cleanup experience. Complimentary coffee awaits all participants as a gesture of appreciation. Furthermore, those who return with a bag filled with litter will be rewarded with a complimentary drink voucher for two local beers or glasses of house wine. Additionally if tide permits, the resort employs its new beach cleaner to efficiently collect rubbish that might be concealed from view.
“Our team is thrilled to introduce this distinctive initiative, which perfectly reflects our dedication to sustainability and responsible tourism,” said Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF Owned Hotels. “Litter for a Latte not only empowers our guests and employees to actively participate in our environmental efforts, but also celebrates their valuable contributions towards safeguarding Fiji’s oceans from plastic pollution.”
Natadola Beach is widely regarded as Fiji’s best beach and has been recognized as one of the top 50 beaches in the world. InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa proudly takes a leading role in efforts to preserve this pristine environment for generations to come.
