Funds raised during this year’s Pinktober campaign will support local cancer charities, with contributions driven by special guest events and team initiatives. The campaign reflects a commitment to promoting cancer awareness and improving care in Fiji, aligned with IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow programme.
20th November 2024 (Natadola, Fiji): FNPF-owned IHG hotels in Fiji – InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, and Holiday Inn Suva – are pleased to announce that their 2024 Pinktober campaign raised FJ$10,000 in support of local cancer charities. Of the funds that were raised, FJ$5,000 will be donated to Fiji Cancer Society, FJ$2,500 will be donated to WOWS Kids Fiji and FJ$2,500 will be donated to Cure Kids Fiji.
In October, the three FNPF-owned IHG hotels in Fiji united in support of Pinktober with a series of special fundraising events, blending hospitality with heartfelt purpose. Guests were invited to participate in a variety of themed experiences, from enjoying pink-inspired cocktails and elegant high teas to pampering spa treatments and the ‘Cup of Kindness’ coffee initiative. With 10% of all proceeds going directly to cancer care and awareness programs in Fiji, each event encouraged guests and team members alike to join hands in making a meaningful impact on the local community.
“On behalf of our owners, the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), our management, and colleagues, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported our Pinktober initiatives throughout the month of October,” commented Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF-Owned Hotels. “The generosity and kindness shown by our guests, colleagues and community have truly humbled us, as they came together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer in Fiji. This campaign is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we unite with compassion and a shared purpose.”
The funds raised will help the Fiji Cancer Society in patient care and advocacy, WOWS Kids Fiji in supporting young cancer patients and their families, and Cure Kids Fiji in advancing child health initiatives.
These Pinktober initiatives reflect IHG’s commitment to social responsibility, aligning with its Journey to Tomorrow programme and the hotels’ dedication to community well-being.
The leadership teams of all three hotels extend heartfelt thanks to guests, colleagues, and the community for their support of this meaningful cause.
