(SUVA, FIJI) Friday, 17 March 2017 – The Holiday Inn Suva is delighted to announce the appointment of Mohammed Feroz to the role of General Manager, to be based at the iconic hotel in the capital of Fiji – Suva city.
Mohammed comes from a diverse business background and Resort specific experience of six years with the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). He Joined InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa in 2010 and worked through various assignments including Director Human Resources and was appointed to the role of Resort Manager in 2014 – a key role to lead and manage the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa’s day-to-day leadership and direction by maximising financial returns, driving development of people, creating and delivering a unique guest experience, including building awareness of Resort and brand in the local community.
IHG is passionate about growing talented leaders – Mohammed was identified as a high potential and continued his development into the industry through various IHG initiatives, with the most recent one being the 2016 General Manager’s Programme, completed successfully in Bangkok.
A welcome addition to the Holiday Inn Suva team, Mohammed brings with him a strong strategic leadership background and a great passion for leading business to drive results.
A very goal-orientated individual, Mohammed enjoys motivating his team to strive towards new heights for not only guest satisfaction, but also financial metrics and market competitiveness.
The Fiji National Provident Fund, which owns 100% of the Holiday Inn, Suva have applauded Mohammed’s appointment. “This is the first time that Holiday Inn has a local professional at its helm since acquisition by FNPF and we are proud of this achievement”, said FNPF Chief Operating Officer Mr. Jaoji Koroi.
“Mohammed’s appointment is part of a development program that FNPF is working on with IHG and proves that renowned international hotel chain such as IHG recognizes potential in local talent, and have grown and groomed him for this appointment. We hope that Mohammed will be the first of many locals to ascend to leadership roles in FNPF owned hotels”, said Mr. Koroi.
