Graduates ready for tourism workforce

Fiji Times Saturday 09 September 2017  A number of Fiji Red Cross community volunteers in the Nadroga province are now ready to enter the tourism industry workforce after successfully completing their Safety, First Aid and Mind the Child courses.

The 23 women from the vanua of Nalolo which consist of the villages of Tau, Nakorokula and Lomawai in Nadroga now await the opportunity to be employed as nannies at the newly opened luxury facility, the Marriott on Momi Bay Resort.

The vanua of Nalolo is the traditional resource owner where the five-star Marriott on Momi Bay Resort is situated.

In handing the certificates to the graduates at the Marriott on Momi Bay Resort staff hall, chief guest FRCS divisional services coordinator north Arthur Simmons urged the women to carry out their roles as certified first aid and mind the child CPR personnel diligently and more importantly to share their knowledge in their respective communities.

“You are recipients of a training that is renowned the world over as the best in Safety and First Aid and in the Mind the Child CPR arena, the challenge for you now is how you administer what you have been taught to the highest level wherever you are called,” said Mr Simmons.  Read more…
