The Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association congratulates all winners and their families, and the Chef of the Year, from the Moffats Salon Culinaire 2016. CEO Michael Wong stated that he was impressed overall with the improvement in standards across all classes.
HOTEC 2016 was run in conjunction with the Moffats Salon Culinaire from 08-11 November. During this 4 day show, a massive 334 competitors ranging from school students to professional chefs took part in intensive competition.
On behalf of the Association, Mr Wong extended a warm congratulations of our “Hero Catergories” of the 2016 Moffat Salon Culinaire as listed below:-
Junior Chef of the year 2016
- 1st place with Gold medal goes to Nicholas Jordan from Waidroka Beach Resort
- 2nd place with Silver medal goes to Mufeed Ali from Rhum-Ba
- 3rd place with Bronze medal goes to Akshay Kumar from Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort
Pastry Chef of the year 2016:
- 1st place with Gold medal goes to Ritesh Nand from Radisson Blu Resort
- 2nd place with Silver medal goes to Kirtika Naidu from Sheraton Fiji Resort
- 3rd place with Bronze medal goes to Kelera Nalewabau from Hilton Beach Resort
Chef of the year 2016
- 1st place with Gold medal goes to Mohammed Asif from Shangri-La’s Fijian resort
- 2nd place with Silver medal goes to Varish Om Prasad from Sheraton-Westin
- 3rd place with Bronze medal goes to Asish Kumar from Sofitel Fiji resort and Spa
