The Fiji Times, 11 April 2018 – PARTS of the Western Division will remain without power as the Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) assesses the damage caused by Severe Tropical Cyclone Keni.
FEA chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel said there had been momentary gusts and periodic rainfall experienced in the Western Division.
“As a result of a permanent fault, at 7.11am this morning (yesterday), we had lost connectivity of the Nadarivatu to Vuda 132kV main transmission line that transports power supply from the hydro power stations in Monasavu and Nadarivatu to the Western Division,” he said.
“As a result, no hydro power is being supplied to the Western Division and the Western Division is now dependent on diesel stations.” Read more…
