McDonald’s, or simply McD, is an American hamburger and fast food restaurant chain. It was founded in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald.
The McDonald’s (Fiji) chain of restaurant openned a new $4.5 million investment restaurant in Lautoka by in December 2015. This was their fourth restaurant around the country. It is created employment to 60 people plus 10 management positions.
The site is of the new restaurant is located along Vitogo Parade in between Westpac Bank and Total Service station.
Managing Director Marc McElrath said the new restaurant boasts state of the art features – not seen in the other three.

Mr McElrath said they have invested close to a million dollars for upgrades in the Nadi, Suva and Laucala Bay restaurants in the last 18-months
McDonald’s is also opening the Ronald McDonald House project later in 2016 – a charity project which will be set up to help the children in Fiji.
“It’s still early days of the set up of this charity – basically the funding will come from McDonald’s Fiji and from around the community to be used to assist children for medical treatments.”
