Fiji Times Monday 14 August 2017 TELECOM Fiji Ltd (TFL) is building capacity and upgrading to achieve better speeds and performance using multiple access technologies, says company CEO Mothilal De Silva.
Speaking at their TFL annual awards night, Mr De Silva said they were using multiple access technologies such as ADSL, ultra-fast broadband services like VDSL, FTTH and GPOPN on fixed wireline and WiFi to cater for the different market segments.
“All these technologies are complementary solutions, not replacing one for the other,” he said.
“Under fixed wireline network upgrades, we bring the mini exchanges and fibre closer to premises and nearly 70 per cent of populated areas have been upgraded to IP technologies progressively, dismantling the old TDM technology.” Read more…
