Fantasha Lockington is the Chief Executive Officer for the Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association (FHTA), a private sector membership-based organisation that protects, promotes and develops the interests of the tourism industry.

Ms Lockington is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) with a Master of Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific (USP) and several IATA airline-related management qualifications, with over 30 years in the tourism sector and 6 years in the public sector that has provided her with a robust understanding of both operational and strategic facets of the industry.

Recognized as the representative voice of the tourism sector, Fantasha is deeply involved in shaping policies and fostering partnerships that promote growth and innovation. She is a trusted partner for government and development stakeholders, offering invaluable insights to guide regulatory reforms and maximize the sector’s economic impact.

She serves on several boards, including Tourism Fiji, the Fiji Commerce & Employers Federation (FCEF), the Employment Relations Advisory Board (ERAB), and the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) Board, reflecting her commitment to advancing the industry and the nation.

Executive Officer (EO)

Litia Mario

Litia Mario

Litia Mario, currently serving as the Executive Officer at the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association, is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of administrative and management experience. With a solid foundation in computer programming, spanning seven years, Litia has demonstrated her versatility and proficiency across various domains. Her career highlights include managing sports events for Fiji Hockey and Oceania Hockey, as well as establishing and overseeing operations for the Fiji College of General Practitioners. Before her current role, Litia served as the Corporate Services Manager at the British High Commission in Suva, where she excelled in overseeing finance, administration, human resources, and property management functions. Her leadership skills were instrumental in effectively managing local operations and leading a team of professionals.

Events & Operational Support Officer (EOSO)

Cheryl Fong

Cheryl Fong

Cheryl Fong, a graduate of the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Tourism Studies and Management & Public Administration, has been a part of the FHTA team since 2009. As FHTA’s Operational Support Officer, she assists the Executive Management in achieving the Association’s strategic priorities to promote the Association efficiently and provide support to its Membership.

Mrs. Fong plays a pivotal role as the Events Officer within FHTA, overseeing the coordination of FHTA’s major events, such as the Annual General Meeting, Dive Fiji EXPO and Bula Dive FAM, and the biennial HOTEC tradeshow. In addition, she serves as the primary point of contact for membership-related inquiries and manages the membership application process. Mrs. Fong also facilitates member assistance with updating their information records, accessing the FHTA website, and inclusion in the FHTA email distribution database. Furthermore, she supports executive management by assisting with the annual training calendar and conducting training needs assessments for members.

Jiuria Fimone

Jiurua Fimone

Jiuria Fimone is a qualified professional, holding a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Financial Management from USP. She brings extensive experience in financial management and administration to her role at the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association.

Previously, Jiuria excelled at Hot Bread Kitchen and was the successful proprietor of Borne Traders. Her career has been marked by the development of exceptional communication and organizational skills, which she has applied in diverse roles across various organizations. Jiuria is dedicated to ensuring efficient operations and client satisfaction in every aspect of her work.

Membership Services Assistant (MSA)

Pranesh Dayal

Pranesh Dayal

Pranesh Dayal is FHTA’s Membership Services Assistant. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in International Business and Marketing (IBM) and Human Resource Management & Employment Relations from USP.

Before joining FHTA, Pranesh gained valuable experience at Yue Lai Hotel as a Front Desk Attendant/Receptionist. He also worked at Global Insight in various roles including Junior Research Assistant, Transcriber, and later, Communications/HR Assistant. As an MSA at FHTA, Pranesh will be supporting the team with member services such as immigration engagements and discounted airfares; alongside other membership services activities including handling membership inquiries and maintaining accurate member records. Additionally, he contributes to member engagement efforts by assisting the team to coordinate key events and distributing communications.

Public Relations Officer (PRO)

Glen Vavaitamana

Mr. Glen Vavaitamana serves as the Public Relations Officer at the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA), leveraging his Diploma in Pacific Journalism from USP. With a rich professional background, he has previously contributed his expertise to organizations such as Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development, Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption, Fiji Television Limited, and Communications Fiji Limited.

In his capacity as Public Relations Officer, Mr. Vavaitamana assumes a pivotal role in overseeing the effective execution of FHTA’s Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy. His responsibilities extend to ensuring the proactive promotion and maintenance of the association’s and its members’ tourism initiatives in a favourable light, thereby enhancing their visibility and impact.
