THE Fiji Bureau of Statistics’ Provisional Hotels and Tourist Accommodation Statistics for the first quarter of 2017 issued late last month revealed that out of the 882,916 hotel rooms available in Fiji during the quarter, 406,471 rooms were sold earning overall takings of $179.4 million.
As expected Fiji’s tourist hub Nadi led the stats by way of room nights sold by area at 142,607 with Coral Coast at 85,543 room nights, followed by Suva a close third at 74,849 and Mamanuca at 58,712 room nights making up the top four areas.
The top four were followed by Lautoka 21,031, Northern Division at 17,658 and others at 6071. Read more…
