The Fiji Times, 17 February – THE permanent secretary for the Ministry of Tourism, Shaheen Ali, opened the first stakeholders’ consultations on the Fijian Tourism 2021 Plan in Suva yesterday.
Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya, while launching the 2014 IVS Report last December, had said the Fijian Government set a target of creating a $2.2 billion industry for the entire tourism sector by the end of 2021.
The consultations opened by the Tourism Ministry permanent secretary yesterday has set in motion the move to achieve this target set by Government and in the words of Mr Ali: “In terms of moving forward, today we expect all stakeholders to provide their valuable input to the draft strategies.
