Fiji Sun, Wed 14 Feb – More than 200 passengers along with vehicles were left stranded inside the Interlink vessel for 10 hours on Saturday at the Nabouwalu wharf after its ramp broke.
Witnesses say the cables connecting to the ramp got stuck and snapped when a 12 wheeler truck reversed to enter the Interlink vessel, before the ship was ready to board vehicles.
Interlink officers tried to lift the ramp, but the hydraulic was not working. Interlink Shipping Services have not commented on the matter.
